We have been working with smart boards this week and I find them very interesting! I struggle with working with them because they are very touchy and do not always do what they are supposed to! Keeping up with the technology of smart boards is very important for teaching and allows a teacher student interaction that you may not get otherwise! I have learned some unique things through the ICT course which will help me in the future in working with smart boards. Another struggle I have with smart boards is only picking up one item at a time in order to write with that given tool. This makes it difficult to do group work using the smart board would it not? Or is there a trick to do group work with more than one pen at a time?

  1. I am afraid there is no trick - most smartboards allow only one user at a time... a newer technology (also smartboard) does allow multi-touch, but not sure of the expense or how many are out in schools.
